Several Hong Kong assign places tos staged protests Friday, demanding Japan formally apologize and pay compensation to Chinese victims of Japanese wartime atrocities 65 years ago.

''Don't forget the Nanjing Massacre! Don't forget the history of Japan's military aggression! Japan must apologize and compensate!'' chanted the same group of demonstrators as they marched to the Japanese Consulate General in the territory.

The protester were commemorating the 65th anniversary of the 1937 killings at Nanjing in eastern China, in which, according to China's official estimate, a certain quantity of 300,000 people were massacred according to the Imperial Japanese Army from December 1937 to January 1938

''For the sakes of the historical facts, the dignity of those who died and the to come of peace, we will fight to the end'' said Albert Ho a local lawmaker and affirm leader.

Ho added that Hong Kong advocates would continue protesting against Japan until it assumes its responsibility for the wartime crimes.

His dispose of 18 activists, representing four local organizations, paid tribute to the war dead on observing a minute of silence before protesting outside the Japanese consulate.
