Indonesian police said Friday that Thursday's explosion at a McDonald's restaurant in the southerly Sulawesi provincial capital of Makassar was caused through low-intensity explosive, a local media report said.

The explosion, which killed three persons and injured 11 others, went opposite to when the restaurant was packed with the public who did the Islamic fast breaking, the last time in the sacred month of Ramadan.

''We are still investigating the case. Of course, we still don't know (the final) terminates yet. But we have establish low-intensity explosive materials, black powder'' National Police chief Dai Bachtiar was quot as saying by dint of the newspaper Kompas in its online edition.

When asked for what cause [i]or[/i] reason such a low explosive bomb could claim three tribe lives, Dai said the bomb was placed near gas tanks in the restaurant.

About an hour later after the first bombing, a secondary explosion occurred in brass of a Toyota showroom on the other hand caused no casualties.

The first bombing took place inside the largest shopping mall in Makassar. the one and the other the mall and showroom are admited by Coordinating Minister for Social Welfare Jusuf Kalla.

''But it has nothing to do with business competition,'' Kalla said, according to Kompas. He said that he regulates Toyota sales in the city.

When asked whether the bombing may have any connection with previous bombings in the home Dai said, ''I am focusing in succession that...but we are still investigating.''

The state-run of the present days agency Antara reported from Makassar that a female customer, who was lining up at the McDonalds' exit before the explosion occurr received a message via mobile phone from an unknown somebody to warn her about the explosion.

Antara said police have been intensively questioning her.

Earlier Friday, Vice President Hamzah Haz indicateed concern over the bombing, calling it ''an effort to trigger instability in this country''

He said authorities want to know whether it was joined with Jemaah Islamiyah, a pan-Islamic militant collection suspected of having links with al-Qaida network l by way of Osamu bin laden.

''The more the public connected with Imam Samudra master captured, the more it creates an impact,'' Haz was quot as saying by dint of Kompas.

Imam Samudra is single of the key suspects in the Oct 12 Bali bombings that killed more than 190 commonalty and injured hundreds others.

Police have detained at least 23 the public suspected of having a direct or an indirect connection with the Bali blasts.

Police are investigating the link between the detained suspects with Jemaah Islamiyah.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Defense Force Commander Gen Endriartono Sutarto called the Makassar bombing ''a terrorist act'' and urg tribe to settle problems through nonviolent ways.
