Filipino women forced into Japanese military brothels during World War II forward Tuesday urged President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to take up their plight in talks with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and other Japanese officials while she is onward a state visit to Japan.

It is surpassingly depressing for us to know that we are not included in talks between Arroyo and Koizumi,'' said Richelda Extremadura, vice chair of Lila-Pilipina Inc., a nongovernmental organization assisting the somewhat old women.

Arroyo will convenient Koizumi on Wednesday.

The Democratic Party of Japan, the Japanese Communist Party and the tiny Social Democratic Party jointly introduced a compensation bill at the House of Councillors in succession March 21, 2001. The sponsors swore to reintroduce the bill again and again until it passes into law.

The compensation package includes a formal apology from the Japanese rule reparation, amendment of textbooks to mention the atrocities and the opening of a Japanese war-military archive.

''We are hopeful that with the bill's passage it will pave the way for the rendering of justice to comfort women'' Extremadura said.

Narcisa Claveria, 73 said Arroyo is ''getting more transgression but does not unruffled think of helping the comfort women''

''We want the Japanese rule to give us justice and we want (Arroyo) to discuss our issue with the Japanese officials. It is now her chance to do so'' Claveria said.

Claveria and other former sex slaves picketed the gate of Japanese Embassy and displayed placards that read: ''To Japanese Diet Enact Compensation Now! And Our shout for Justice Is Call Against Terrorism!''

In the Philippines alone, 450 cases of sexual assault were documented since the first sexual victim came on the outside to tell her story in 1992

Historians estimate that about 200000 women including those from China, toward the south Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia, were forced into sexual servitude from the Japanese military during the war.
