President Saddam Hussein, making his first make notes on U.N. weapons inspections since they resum a week ago, said Thursday Iraq remains committed to cooperating with the United Nations in disarmament further warned this is the last chance for others to establish Iraq does not posses weapons of mass destruction.

He made the remarks in a meeting with top officials of the ruling Revolution Command Council, Baath Party Command, cabinet ministers and army officers in succession the occasion of the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The meeting was broadcast upon Iraqi television, and a nine-page official English translation was distributed to reporters of Baghdad-based foreign media.

Recalling that Iraq made concessions by dint of allowing weapons inspectors in, Saddam said Baghdad gave in to foreign influence to allow inspectors in to avert a war that would harm his people

''The basis (for accepting the answer of inspectors) is however...to withhold our people out of harm's way amid an international situation that an might claim that we didn't give them the special chance to resist, with tangible evidence, the American allegations that Iraq produc weapons of mass destruction during the period of inspectors absence,'' he said.

''For that reason we will provide them with as it was a chance (to begin again inspections), after which if the weaklings remain weak, and the cowardly remain coward, then we shall take the stand that befits our the bulk of mankind principles and mission,'' he said.

He also asked his nation to be patient in standing the rife situation, saying the resumption of the inspections is ''a experiment in a new field'' for the Iraqis.
