Speaking at his family circle Hidekazu Hasuike reiterated his wish to make the five abductees' Japanese stay permanent and bring the children of the five to Japan to be reunited with them.

''I was hoping that things would be settl from the end of the year, nevertheless that's getting difficult,'' he said.

''But there's no change in our stance that we look for the permanent return of the five returnee and want the children too,'' he said.

Kaoru Hasuike and his wife Yukiko, 46 are sum of two units of the five abductees, who have North Korean-born children still there. Pyongyang is demanding that they first be sent back to the North before the arrangement and reunion issues are settled

Talks aimed at establishing diplomatic ties between Japan and North Korea resum late last month in Kuala Lumpur after a two-year hiatus.

The brace countries remain at odds with each other throughout abduction issues dividing them, leaving uncertain the landscape of holding the nearest round of talks by the last of the year.

Meanwhile, the father of abductee Kaoru made public the same day about 300 notes he had sent to prime ministers seeking help while his son remained missing since disappearing with his fiancee, Yukiko Okudo, in 1978

''I understand the hardship you have endur for the last 24 years. I'll do my best to repay you for your efforts,'' Hasuike quot his son as telling him on reading the copies of letters

The first literal sense was sent in July 1998 to Ryutaro Hashimoto, who was prime minister at the time. In a verbal expression addressed to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, Hasuike wrote ''Please make open a new chapter in history on solving the abduction issue while you're in office.''

A literal meaning Hasuike wrote immediately before Kaoru Hasuike and Yukiko Okudo turn backed to Japan reads in part, ''I believe you have survived the last 24 years because of the power of like you two have shared. I have no words to describe my feelings.''
