A senior North Korean Foreign Ministry official indicated Friday there will be no unravelling in bilateral talks as protracted as Tokyo does not launch back the five abductees who are now upon a homecoming trip in Japan.

Pak Ryong Yon substitute chief of the ministry's bureau in charge of Japanese affairs, also claimed there are no additional cases of abduction of Japanese nationals other than those involving 13 persons to which the North already admitted at the generation 17 summit in Pyongyang between North Korean leader Kim Jong Il and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.

''The Japanese restraint broke its promise and is not being true'' Pak said in an interview with Japanese media, including Kyodo stranges regarding Japan's decision to hold the five returnees beyond a period of about sum of two units weeks.

''Under this condition, what kind of progres will there be?'' he said, referring to bilateral talks that had just resum in late October after a two-year hiatus.

Japan has ''committed a dogmatic and treasonous behavior that wasteed the relationship of trust,'' Pak said in criticizing Tokyo's decision not to get back the five to the North.

The interview was the first given by dint of a senior official of the ministry to Japanese media since the break in bilateral talks at the finis of October.

''In short, (Japan-North Korean relations) are highly bad,'' Pak said at the beginning of the interview.

Regarding the children of the abductees, whom Tokyo is urging Pyongyang to depute to Japan, Pak said, ''We have not heard from the five and cannot confirm their decisions. The children do not know that their parents are Japanese, we cannot count them to go because they are Japanese.''

''The parents should get back (to North Korea) and speak directly (with the children),'' Pak insisted.

Responding to criticism regarding various points of suspicion from Japan, such as iniquitous dates of birth on the death certificates of eight abductees Pyongyang claims have died, Pak said his command will act after Japan present to views it will be faithful.

Pak said of the dates given, ''Since it is something done through human beings, there are mistakes sometimes.''
