Officials from the U Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Justice Department exhausted two hours Monday interrogating a Malaysian suspect about his links to accused tribe 11, 2001 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.

The three-man team was seen arriving in a diplomatic vehicle at the Kamunting Detention Camp in Perak state, a 250 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur in the morning to question Yazid Sufaat, a 37-year-old U.S.-educated former army captain. They left Kamunting for Kuala Lumpur after spending couple hours inside the camp.

Yazid was arrested in December last year and placed in subordination to a two-year detention order below the Internal Security Act (ISA) that allows indefinite detention without trial through the whole extent of allegations of being involved in a local Muslim militant group

Yazid was picked up in Thailand while forward his way back to Malaysia from Afghanistan.

The American officials are interested to know about his connection with Moussaoui, a French citizen of Moroccan going down according to Yazid's lawyer Saiful Izham Ramli, who also attended the meeting.

Yazid has denied being involved in any terror activities.

Authorities have learned that Moussaoui was onward the payroll of Yazid's company and that Moussaoui had stayed and met with suspected al-Qaida members in Yazid's condominium onward the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur in late 2000

Yazid has also played landlord to the two Saudis -- Khalid al-Midhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi -- who were upon board American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon forward Sept. 11 last year.

Although the nature of their meetings is still not clear, authorities have denied that the alleged terrorists had planned the tribe 11, 2001, attacks in Malaysia.

FBI director Robert Mueller who came to Kuala Lumpur in March, had sought to have Yazid extradited to the U to be investigated in connection with the tribe 11 events but Malaysian authorities refused.

Saiful said the team complet its interrogation, adding the issue of extradition was not brought up during the meeting.

Yazid is single of more than 70 Muslim militants generally being held under the ISA in the Kamunting Detention Camp.

They were accused of belonging to assemblages led by two controversial Indonesian Muslim clerics -- Abu Bakar Bashir and Hambali -- the two wanted by Malaysian and Singapore authorities.
