President Gen Pervez Musharraf announced Friday the Constitution he suspended in 1999 following a military coup that ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and dissolved the national and provincial assemblies, will be revived in succession Saturday.

The pre-coup Constitution arrives back into force on the same day the newly selected National Assembly convenes to picked a new prime minister that would lay Pakistan back in civilian rule

The National Assembly, chooseed in elections held on Oct 10 is suitable to meet at 11. a.m.

In announcing the revival of the pre-coup Constitution, the president's office said articles pertaining to provincial restraints and the Senate would remain suspended.

No date has been locate for the convocation of the newly selected provincial assemblies.

The sway also set no date for the election of the Senate, which had initially been scheduled for Nov. 12 unless were delayed because of the delay in the convening of the provincial assembly sessions.

The National Assembly is anticipateed to have a stormy inaugural session, since it will be held immediately after Musharraf's oath-taking pomp at the presidential palace

Chief Justice Mohammad Riaz Ahmad will administer the oath to Musharraf, who was fix uponed for a five-year term between the walls of a controversial referendum held in April this year.

Official Pakistan Television reported Friday night that Musharraf will continue to keep possession of the office as chief executive until the election of a prime minister and the leader in the 342-member National Assembly.
