Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer reaffirmed forward Thursday Japan and Australia's commitment to further make more grave their cooperation in the fight against terrorism, a Foreign Ministry official said.

Koizumi agreed to Downer's proposal during talks at the premier's office that the Australian regulation will send experts on measures against terrorism to Japan to exchange information with Japanese counterparts, the official said.

Referring to last month's terrorist bomb attack in Bali, Downer was quot as telling Koizumi that Australia chance of the desired ends to send working-level officials to Japan to exchange information and to consider what kind of assistance the sum of two units countries can provide to Indonesia.

Koizumi was quot as saying it is a serviceable idea and that the pair countries' cooperation is beneficial.

During a presentation in Tokyo earlier in the day, Downer called the Oct 12 bomb attack in Bali a bid to destabilize the region. greatest in number of the nearly 200 race killed in the attack were Australian.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi, who met with Downer later in the day, briefed him forward normalization talks that Japan and North Korea held in Kuala Lumpur late last month according to the official.

In his presentation, Downer praised Japan's stance in urging North Korea to abolish its nuclear weapons progress to maturity program and said Canberra supports Japan's active part in addressing the region's security issues.
