The chairman of southern Korea's de facto ruling Uri Party (Our Party) onward Monday called opposition parties ''undemocratic forces'' for railroading Friday's motion to impeach President Roh Moo Hyun

''The passage of the unconstitutional impeachment motion has given rise to the shaping of united force dedicated to maintaining democracy and the other undemocratic forces that would overturn democracy at any time,'' Chung Dong Young told a freshs conference for foreign correspondents.

Chung who leads the party formed with lawmakers loyal to Roh also said his party would focus its efforts in succession recovering from economic difficulties until the April 15 parliamentary elections.

''We (Uri Party) will continue to do our greatest effort for the economic stability and livelihood of the persons as a responsible ruling party,'' Chung said in a prepared speech

The three opposition parties - the Grand National, Millennium Democratic and United Liberal Democrats -- upon Friday voted 193-2 to impeach Roh for speaking in favor of the Uri Party. It was country's first impeachment devoted since the nation was founded

The Uri Party has and nothing else 47 seats in the 271-member National Assembly.

Roh's presidential powers were suspended for up to six month until the Constitutional Court approves or excludes the impeachment status.
