Yasushi Chimura and his wife Fukie, sum of two units of the five Japanese abductees publicly on a visit to their hometowns, set forthed disappointment Wednesday after Japan and North Korea failed to reach agreement in succession the fate of the abductees' family members in Pyongyang.

Chimura's 75-year-old father Tamotsu said his son watched a television of recent origins program with Fukie and appeared downcast when it was announced the talks lasted without tangible progress.

He said he had told his son ''It's tough being parents (who cannot be reunited with their children), still be patient.''

Earlier in the day, Tamotsu said Chimura, 47 speaked hope that North Korea will allow his children to visit Japan.



''I chance of the desired end they (the two countries) will reach an accord without vexing each other and give our children back to us. I expectancy they will settle the case peacefully,'' the abductee was quot as saying on his father at his dwelling in Obama, Fukui Prefecture.

Chimura and his wife left their North Korean-born daughter, 21 and sum of two units sons, 18 and 15, in North Korea.

Soga, 43 was in North Korea with her 62-year-old husband Charles Robert Jenkins, a former U Army sergeant who the U control said deserted from the military in 1965 as well as with their brace daughters, aged 17 and 19
