The five abductees arrived in Japan in succession Oct. 15 for what was suppos to be a visit of up to around sum of two units weeks, as agreed by Tokyo and Pyongyang, on the other hand Japan decided to keep them here while demanding North Korea jaculate their families to Japan. The five are Yasushi Chimura and his wife Fukie, the two 47, Kaoru Hasuike, 45 his wife Yukiko, 46 and Hitomi Soga, 43 Earlier in the day, Kawaguchi said that getting North Korea to allow the relatives to travel to Japan will not be a precondition for holding the nearest round of normalization talks. Kawaguchi's remarks, made after a morning cabinet meeting, contradict those of legate Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe made Thursday. Abe said North Korea must indicate when it will allow the relatives to join the returnee before Tokyo agrees to risk a date for the nearest round.
