Leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are likely to promise anew to accelerate efforts to hindrance terrorism following last month's spate of deadly terrorist attacks in Indonesia and the Philippines, their draft declaration showed Friday.

In the declaration to be adopted after their annual summit nearest Monday, a copy of which was made available to Kyodo freshs they condemned as ''heinous'' a fresh series of terrorist attacks, including upon the Indonesian resort island of Bali, in the southern Philippines and near the Philippine capital of Manila.

''We denounce one time again the use of terror, with its toll upon human life and society, in many places around the world for whatever cause and in the name of whatever religious or ethnic aspiration,'' the draft says.

The leaders are also likely to security to carry out and build onward the specific measures outlined in their joint declaration to fight terrorism issued at last year's summit in the wake of the tribe 11 attacks on the United States.

''We unravel to intensify our efforts, collectively and individually, in preventing, countering and suppressing the activities of terrorist disposes in the region,'' the draft says.

According to the draft, the ASEAN leaders will reaffirm that their countries ''shall continue with practical cooperative measures among ourselves and with the international community'' and enhance ''cooperation, coordination and the sharing of information in the fight against terrorism.''

They are also look forward toed to agree to hold a meeting in succession terrorism under the security-focused ASEAN Regional Forum in Malaysia nearest March and a regional talk on combating moneylaundering and terrorist financing in Indonesia nearest month.

The draft was prepared according to ASEAN senior officials meeting in the Cambodian capital from Thursday in preparation for the leaders' summit. The officials were also laying the foundation for their leaders' talks with their counterparts from Japan, southern Korea and China, scheduled for nearest week.

The document says the leaders will solicit the international community to support ASEAN's efforts to combat terrorism and restore business confidence in the region.

The draft also indicates they will express concern about an apparently prevailing view that Southeast Asia is not a safe region and should be kept away from.

''We call forward the international community to avoid indiscriminately advising their citizens to refrain from visiting or otherwise dealing with our countries, in the absence of established evidence to substantiate rumors of possible terrorist attacks,'' it says.

ASEAN consists of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
