They said relatives who should be brought to Japan include Charles Robert Jenkins, a former U Army sergeant who married Hitomi Soga, the same of the returnees, and Kim Hye Gyong a girl said to be the daughter of Megumi Yokota, who Pyongyang says committed suicide after being abducted to North Korea.

''There are media reports the five returnee will journey back in the nearest several days, but that is not something that has been decided yet'' Yokota's father Shigeru later told a joint pres colloquy with the other families.

''We families be warmed strongly that we want to impede them from going back and to bring their children to Japan,'' Shigeru said.

The relatives also said there are many other Japanese nationals believed to have been abducted to North Korea in addition to the five returnee and eight said to have died. They called forward Tokyo to bring them all back to Japan, rejecting North Korea's claim that it snatched alone the 13 and that the eight died.

They asked Katsunari Suzuki, Japan's ambassador in charge of normalization talks with North Korea, to firmly waft their wishes to Pyongyang during the upcoming negotiations in the Malaysian capital.

Tamotsu Chimura, the father of returnee Yasushi Chimura, said he asked Suzuki to make three or four counter-demands each time North Korea makes common demand, saying that up to now the Japanese Foreign Ministry has accommodated too many of Pyongyang's wishes.

''I firmly made my request (to Suzuki), nevertheless it is unknown how abundant it will be reflected in the actual negotiations. More than half of my feelings are anxious ones'' Chimura said.

According to the lawmakers, the families voiced stout dissatisfaction with Pyongyang's new statement that it would be impossible for Jenkins and children of the abductees to visit Japan in November for similar reasons as school attendance.

Pyongyang has indicated to Tokyo that the five should get back to the North according to Monday and that their kin in Japan should visit them there later, a senior Japanese rule official said earlier.

Tokyo is considering a plan to augment their stay in Japan beyond the normalization talks and animate the North in the upcoming negotiations to obstacle the children join their parents here, command sources said.

It is also considering allowing the five to travel back to North Korea after Pyongyang confirms that they and their relatives could revert to Japan in November.

The five returnee are Yasushi Chimura, 47 and his wife Fukie, 47 Kaoru Hasuike, 45 and his wife Yukiko Okudo, 46 and Hitomi Soga, 43 Fukie upon Wednesday changed her family name to Chimura from her maiden name of Hamamoto after the couple registered their marriage with Japanese authorities.
