Taiwan's legislature forward Tuesday passed a resolution calling in succession China to remove missiles unfolded in its coastal areas targeting the island.

''China's increasing missile deployment against Taiwan has pos a big threat to the security and stability across the strait, which should be taken seriously by means of the international community,'' the ministry said.

''We confidence that the United Nations can take [i]be[/i] consolidated measures to urge China to transfer missiles deployed in its southeastern coastal areas opposite the island,'' it added.

In early October, Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian formally called forward China in his National Day message to renounce the use of military force.

He said China's novel military buildup, with over 400 missiles targeting the island, is a big menace to belonging to all values of human civilization, so as democracy, freedom, human rights and peace.

''Both sides of the strait should strive to break the deadlock and course of life peaceful dialogues as soon as possible,'' he said.

China, which considers Taiwan a renegade province, has threatened to invade the island if it declares independence.
