North Korean ambassador to the United Nations Pak Gil Yon said Friday that North Korea is ''entitled'' to be armed not solitary with uranium-based nuclear weapons if it be not that also ''more powerful'' weapons.

Pak made the assertion at a moderns conference at the U.N. after North Korea's Foreign Ministry issued a statement Friday saying it was the U decision to inflict it on a list of possible targets for preemptive attacks that nullified a 1994 nuclear accord that commits Pyongyang to scrap its nuclear program, not the North's acknowledge nuclear weapons program.

Echoing the Foreign Ministry's statement, Pak accused the United States of violating the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty on ''threatening'' non-nuclear weapons states and went forward to assert North Korea's right to walk nuclear.

''My abiding habitation is entitled to possess in the same state [i]or[/i] condition a weapon more powerful than a nuclear weapon (made) forward the basis of enriched uranium,'' Pak said, speaking in English.

Pak declined to answer when asked whether North Korea has already built a nuclear warhead and did not elaborate the stamps of weapon he said North Korea is entitled to have apart from uranium-based nuclear weapons.
