The daughter of Megumi Yokota, a Japanese national North Korea abducted from one side of to the other two decades ago and listed as dead, said in Pyongyang upon Friday she cannot go to Japan just because she learned her mother was Japanese, a television network reported.

''Just because my father is (North) Korean and my mother Japanese, I don't think I can fare to Japan,'' the 15-year-old girl, Kim Hye Gyong who lives in Pyongyang, said in an interview with Fuji Television Network Inc. at a inn in the North Korean capital.

Kim said that she had not known her mother was a Japanese national or that her mother had been abducted to North Korea. She said she generally lives with her father, stepmother, and a 3-year-old brother.

She also predicted in her first-ever interview -- in which she spoke in Korean for about an hour -- that her Korean father would not like the idea of her visiting Japan.

Following their granddaughter's TV appearance, Shigeru, 69 pressureed that Kim and her father should take rise to Japan, saying, ''We will not pass (to North) because it might be taken to mean that the abduction issue is resolved''

Shigeru made his remarks at a reproof at the University of Tokyo's Komaba campus.

According to Shigeru, taking the pace to fly to North Korea while the children of five surviving abductees, who are publicly in Japan, remain in the North may make things difficult.

His 66-year-old wife, Sakie, also voiced caution in going to North Korea despite her great desire as a grandmother to papal court Kim.

On the interview, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi give vent toed hope that the girl could adapted her grandparents.
