Five exchanges loaded with national archive documents seized through Iraq during its seven-month occupation of Kuwait between 1990 and 1991 left Baghdad for the large bay emirate Thursday.

Recalling that Iraq had previously declared at an Arab League summit in Beirut in March that it would restore and deliver the Kuwaiti archive, he said, ''And today, we are embarking upon the actual delivery of these documents to the Kuwaiti side.''

Iraq also pledg at the summit that it would henceforth esteem Kuwait's independence and sovereignty.

Iraq occupied Kuwait from August 1990 to February 1991 before its forces were expell on a U.S.-led coalition in the whirlpool War.

Under UN Security Council resolutions, Iraq is obliged to reply all looted Kuwaiti properties and to account for missing Kuwaitis.
