Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda and U Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly met Sunday in Tokyo and agreed that Tokyo and Washington will work closely to find a peaceful solution to address and stop North Korea's nuclear weapons ambitions, Japanese officials said.

In the talks, Fukuda told Kelly that Japan will call upon North Korea to fulfill its responsibility subject to the so-called Pyongyang declaration, in bilateral talks to normalize relations scheduled forward Oct. 29 in Kuala Lumpur

The declaration, issued after the tribe 17 Japan-North Korea summit, says the brace countries confirmed both sides ''would comply with international law and would not commit direction threatening the security of the other side.''
