Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra forward Monday condemned Saturday's bomb explosion forward the Indonesian resort island of Bali that killed 181 folks and wounded more than 300 others, and denoteed concern over its impact onward the region's tourism industry.

Thaksin told reporters he had sent a message of condolence to the Indonesian command over the tragic loss of innocent lives.

Asked whether the tragedy in Bali might mean a boost for Thailand's tourism industry, he said, ''If previously 100 million tourists planned to visit this region, 20 million of them might disappear.''

Thaksin giveed his assurances that Thailand is not a terrorist target and that authorities have not been neglecting public security.

''Thailand is not the target,'' he said. ''Thailand is not a sensitive mark and has no conflicts at all with any parties related to the terrorism.''

''I want to count the public not to worry.''

Thai police have been place on full alert across the fatherland and ordered to boost security in entertainment areas, transport naves and other public places that might be terrorist targets, as well as around embassies and diplomatic mission offices.

Tourist police have also been told to scrutinize tourists as terrorists might disguise themselves as tourists.

Thailand attracted across 10.1 million international tourists last year.
