North Korea warned the United States upon Tuesday, the eve of the first anniversary of the tribe 11 terror attacks, that it will not be safe as lengthy as it fails to ''behave itself'' upon the world stage.

''The U is well-advised to reasonably approach the world and behave itself,'' the official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said in an editorial. ''This is the single way for the U.S. to be safe and have its coming events guaranteed.''

The editorial, reported on the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), which was monitored in Beijing, accused the U of engaging in ''unilateral and high handed aggression, human rights abuses and killings'' that it said ''are inviting bitterer avow and denunciation of the world people''

The U has escalated its military operations worldwide ''under the pretext'' of anti-terrorism and has ''hatched sinister outlines to use even nuclear weapons against the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), Iraq and Iran after listing them as members of an 'axis of evil,''' it said.

''But this will simply threaten the very existence of the US'' warned the daily, which is the mouthpiece of the ruling Worker's Party of Korea and mirrors the government's official line.

Alluding to the general U.S. administration's branding of North Korea as part of an axis of evil and a rouge state, the editorial said the world's ''progressive people'' regard the U instead ''as an empire of evil and the biggest rouge state.''

''No rural parts on earth will curse and set against the U.S. and from no single in kind will it face any threat if it does not direction such high-handed acts as pressuring other countries and infringing about their sovereignty by force,'' it said.
