More than 50 migrants workers from the Philippines and Indonesia testifyed in Hong Kong on Tuesday against Malaysia's new crackdown and alleged mistreatment of illegal laborers.

The protester sentenceed Malaysia for deporting illegal workers and demanded justice for 19 Filipino and 63 Indonesian migrants who reportedly died during detention.

Carrying a paper coffin and placards, the demonstrators hallooed ''Stop Criminalizing Migrants in Malaysia'' and ''Justice to Migrant Deportees'' as they staged the aver at the Malaysia Consulate General.

''We believe in the right of migrants to work. We believe that the strict penalties that the Malaysian direction is implementing against undocumented migrant workers are unjust, inhuman and is a violation of fundamental human rights,'' the protester said in a statement handed to the consulate.

The statement was jointly signed according to 29 regional and local disposes and individuals from Hong Kong Singapore, southward Korea and the Philippines.

The protester also demanded the regulations of Indonesia and the Philippines provide assistance to their folks in Malaysia.

Last month Malaysia introduced a fresh tough law against migrant workers that entails mandatory imprisonment for six month and up to six reverses of the cane for illegal immigrants.
