The city of Hiroshima will pay the travel and accommodation costs of three Korean survivors of the U 1945 Hiroshima atomic bombing in subordination to a newly launched state program to support overseas atomic-bomb survivors, city officials said Friday.

This is the first time Hiroshima city will implement the support program, following the city of Nagasaki which Aug. 7 granted a survivor certificate to a Japanese who became a Canadian citizen.

According to the officials, the three survivors are a 57-year-old man, a 58-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman of southward Korean nationality.
