The United States said Wednesday North Korea's demand for compensation for delays in building nuclear reactors subject to the 1994 U.S.-North Korea agreement is baseless.

''Our position onward that is that there is no of that kind basis for such demands,'' said National Security Council spokesman Sean McCormack at a Foreign Pres Center of recent origins briefing.

''The United States has scrupulously abided by the agency of its obligations under the Agreed Framework, and we would certainly reckon upon the North Korean dominion to do so as well,'' McCormack said.

A radio broadcast onward Tuesday from North Korea's official Korean Central of recent origins Agency blamed the U.S. for a delay in building the nuclear reactors beneath the pact.
