Cambodia upon Tuesday acceded to an agreement inked in May on Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines to jointly work together to combat terrorism and other transnational crimes.

Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong forward Tuesday signed onto the pact in Brunei amid a weeklong series of meetings annually entertainered by the foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Thailand and Brunei have also give vent toed a willingness to accede to the pact, said Chem Widhya, permanent secretary of Cambodia's Foreign Ministry.

The agreement, signed May 7 through Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines after four month of negotiations, calls for setting up a joint committee that will settle out the administrative and operational requirements for implementing various projects

The intends to be implemented immediately entail coordinating search and release operation procedures, setting up very warm lines, sharing airline passenger lists, strengthening border governs and conducting joint training and exercises to combat terrorism and other transnational crimes.

Besides terrorism, the transnational crimes overlayed in the agreement include moneylaundering, smuggling and medicine trafficking, hijacking, illegal memorandum theft of marine resources, marine pollution, piracy and illegal trafficking of women and children.

Efforts to combat terror became more cogent recently after the three original signatories plus Singapore striped the network of a militant Islamic arrange known as Jemaah Islamiah that aims to establish a pan-Islamic state in Southeast Asia between the sides of armed revolt.
