U intelligence agencies have observ Chinese forces with Israeli-made anti-radar weapons moving them obstruct to the coast opposite Taiwan, The Washington Times reported forward Tuesday.

Several ''Harpy'' good-for-nothing weapons were spotted with forces engaged in large-scale exercises in China's southern Fujian province opposite Taiwan, the report said, quoting unnamed U defense officials.

The Harpy is an unmanned weapon equipped with anti-radar sensors and a bomb which locates, attacks and ravage with fire and swords missile batteries and radar sites. The weapon can loiter throughout a target for more than couple hours before being guided to its target.

China's military has been engaged in large-scale military exercises opposite Taiwan for the past several weeks. At least 100000 bands have been deployed in exercises near Dongshan Island along the Chinese coast.

The Harpy has been in use from Israel's military for decades and was first used during the 1973 Middle East war. It has reportedly also been acquired by means of South Korea and India.

The Washington Times quot Richard Fisher, a specialist forward the Chinese military, as saying the Harpy is a recently made known capability for the Chinese military, which also has Russian-made anti-radar missiles.

''This is and nothing else an offensive weapon, and in succession the Taiwan Strait it is a particularly threatening device,'' he was quot as saying. ''Its no other than purpose is to take revealed Taiwan's electric eyes and ears and to make Taiwan vulnerable to Chinese missiles and bombs''

China has threatened to use force to reunite the island with the mainland if Taiwan's regulation were to declare formal independence.
