Malaysia's ruling party will in succession Tuesday announce the ''compromise'' reached between Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and other party leaders regarding the retraction of his conflict resignation announcement, a Malay daily reported Monday.

Utusan Malaysia quot United Malays National Organization (UMNO) information chief Megat Junid Megat Ayub as saying the announcement will be made following a meeting of the party's greatest council on Tuesday.

''He understands the wishes of the party members and the commonalty who want him to stay on'' Megat Junid was quot saying.

''At the same time, Dr Mahathir also wanted them to understand his feelings, his wish for freedom as a normal citizen. Finally, we reached a compromise with Dr Mahathir and the compromise will be announced through the UMNO deputy president forward Tuesday,'' he said.

The 14-party ruling National brass (BN) coalition, which Mahathir also chairs, is also scheduled to fitting Tuesday. UMNO Deputy President Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also legate prime minister, will chair the two meetings.

The compromise was reached Sunday just before Mahathir flew not upon to Italy for a 10-day holiday.
