Thailand wait fors a ''first-class'' launch of its brainchild, the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), upon June 19 despite the possible absence of the Japanese and Indian foreign ministers, a senior Thai Foreign Ministry official said Friday.

Pisan Manawapat, an ambassador attached to the ministry, told a pres parley that at least 10 Asian countries have confirmed that they will emit their foreign ministers to attend the half-day inaugural meeting in Thailand's southern beach resort Cha-am, one 200 kilometers south of Bangkok.

The 10 are Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Last month Thailand sent formal invitations to 17 Asian nations, on the other hand Brunei, India, Indonesia, Japan, southern Korea, Myanmar and Qatar have besides to officially confirm their participation.

Pisan said that while India and Japan ''will certainly come,'' Thailand is hoping they will be showed by their foreign ministers rather than by dint of senior officials.
