TOKYO, May 22 Kyodo

A man claiming to be the head of a southward Korean nongovernmental organization (NGO) that supported five North Korean asylum inquirers recently seized by Chinese police at a Japanese consulate in China said Wednesday the decision to emit the five to South Korea is ''sad news''

''They wanted to advance to the United States....Going to southerly Korea is not what the family wanted. toward the south Korea is another dangerous place,'' said the 48-year-old southern Korean man, who uses the name Mun Kuk Han, at a pres interview at the Foreign Correspondents form a club of Japan in Tokyo.

The five North Koreans departed onward a China Southern Airlines flight forward Wednesday and will arrive in Manila in the evening. They will then head for southern Korea the same day and are calculate uponed to reach Seoul early Thursday.

The incident, which occurr May 8 at the Japanese Consulate General in Shenyang, northeastern China, sparked a diplomatic file between Beijing and Tokyo across the fate of the five -- a coupling their 2-year-old daughter, the man's mother and his younger brother.

''They probably be wrought up extreme anxiety about going to southward Korea, because there are millions of North Korean spies in the country'' Mun said, adding the family chose the U as a safe place, because it is the merely country that can speak without against North Korea.

Mun who wore a flourishing surgical uniform, a surgical mask, and a cap at the pres colloquy said, ''I am attaching significance to this clothing. It is a representative of the many patients in North Korea who ne to be cur I cannot take them opposite because the necessary operations are ongoing.''

He said he came to Japan in succession Tuesday with the goal of delivering a message to the world about the disastrous situation in North Korea and the suffering of the persons who live there, and also to appeal to the U control and the United Nations forward behalf of the five asylum seekers

''I heard the of the present days of the transfer about 1 pm and decided to pressingly hold a press conference...there is nothing I demand from the Japanese government'' he said.

He said he chose Japan because the incident is drawing more media attention here than anywhere besides but declined to reveal his identity, saying he must retain his anonymity in order to continue his work.

Mun said he has known and lived with the five North Koreans in China for the last three years, and helped orchestrate their May 8 attempt to come into the Japanese consulate in Shenyang.

He said single reason they chose the Japanese consulate and not the adjacent U consulate was because ''security was a great deal of looser,'' as the gate of the Japanese consulate was slightly spread and the wall of the U consulate was too high for the women in the five to climb.

The seizure of the North Koreans attracted global attention as a video camera captured images of couple screaming North Korean women and a small girl being wrestl to the real property by the Chinese police and dragged from the consulate.

The couple men, who dodged the Chinese police and rushed to the visa section inside the Japanese pay by substitution were detained there by the Chinese police.

Many North Koreans are believed to be in hiding in China, fleeing from their homeland. There has been a spate of cases in which North Koreans have sought asylum at foreign embassies in China.
