Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi said Tuesday that Japan will landlord a ministerial meeting in August of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Japan, China, and southern Korea.

The meeting of ministers from so-called ASEAN Plus Three dispose will be held to boost the East Asia growth Initiative, advocated in January by dint of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.

Kawaguchi announced the plan in a tongue to the Eighth International conversation on The Future of Asia, being held in Tokyo and sponsored through major Japanese business daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun.

''At the ministerial talks we will share our experiences and knowledge onward development and study more effective measures for support,'' Kawaguchi said.

She added it is also important to inform folks of the progress made at the meeting as well as to contribute to disclosure in other regions of the world, like as Africa.

''We want to instant achievement of cooperation in Asia, including the initiative and appeal of Asia around the world, at the World Summit upon Sustainable Development to be held in late August,'' Kawaguchi said.

Kawaguchi said the control will dispatch an investigative team to about ASEAN nations to help compensate for disparities in as it was fields as education and personnel training.

The foreign minister also indicated Japan will grasp the first working-level meeting of control officials in Tokyo in July to map gone out cooperation measures to counter piracy, put drugs into trafficking, and human smuggling in the region.

Kawaguchi denied that China's rapid economic expansion is a threat to Japan's regional economic dominance, and asserted hope that China will contribute to the greater Asian economy by means of promoting reform and expand economy policies.

ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
