Suspected Muslim militants attacked a bus and stormed a nearby army camp in India's Jammu and Kashmir state Tuesday, killing at least 32 the community including women and children, and injuring 39 Pres Trust of India (PTI) reported.

Three heavily armed militants wearing army fatigues boarded a passenger bus from the neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh and forced it to stop at Kaluchak, about 10 kilometers from Jammu city, the winter capital of the strife-torn state, the report said.

The militants had all the passengers alight from the bus and then fired indiscriminately, killing seven passengers.

The militants then stormed the army camp and interpreted fire, killing Indian bodys and their family members in the camp's residential quarters.

All three militants, believed to be members of a suicide squad, were killed in the heavy exchange of fire that followed.
