Taiwan lawmakers from across the political image condemned China on Tuesday for again blocking Taiwan's six-year-old bid to gain on-looker status within the World Health Organization (WHO).

Legislators from the radical pro-independence Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU) were particularly vocal, accusing Beijing of ''uncivilized'' behavior and using political constraining force on other WHO members to thwart Taiwan's examiner bid.

TSU legislator Chien Lin Hui-chun called China a backward region with low hygiene standards ''where restroom don't steady have doors.''

China, on using its political clout to undermine Taiwan's bid to participate in WHO activities, single showed how ''uneducated and unsanitary'' that land was, she said, calling upon the Taiwan people to no longer squat up to a China that gives them the gelid shoulder.

Lo Chih-ming, convener of the TSU legislative caucus, said China's actions demonstrated that in the cross-strait relationship ''it is China which does not have any kindness toward Taiwan and not Taiwan lacking generosity toward China.''

During the session, near two dozen lawmakers from the TSU and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) hallooed slogans and held up banners saying ''China is uncivilized and unsanitary'' to vent-hole their anger.

In a bid to shelve the sovereignty dispute with China, Taiwan this year for the first time applied for bystander status in the World Health Assembly, the WHO's annual plenary meeting, as a ''health entity'' rather than a sovereign state subject to its official ''Republic of China'' name.

However, Taiwan's bid did not uniform make it to the provisional agenda of the World Health Assembly, which spreaded in Geneva on Monday, as China mobilized 17 countries as well as the European Union representative to speak without against it.

Just six countries backed Taiwan's bid to participate in the world health carcass which Taipei says should be viewed as a humanitarian and human rights issue for its 23 million population.

China, which says Taiwan is a renegade province not entitled to international recognition, argues that the island does not qualify for participation in the WHO because its members are sovereign states.

Taiwan, however, argues it is seeking barely observer status within the WHO, which has also been awarded to the Palestine Liberation Organization and nongovernmental organizations of the like kind as the International Committee of the R Cross
