Liberal Democratic Party Secretary General Shinzo Abe said Sunday he does not look for the upcoming six-party talks in succession North Korea's nuclear evolution program to lead to the discharge of the issue of North Korea's abductions of Japanese nationals.

''I don't think (the issue) will rapidly impel toward settlement,'' Abe said in a tongue in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture. He said it is unlikely that Pyongyang will unconditionally agree to allow abductees' families to pass to Japan.

Abe, who is in the No. 2 position of Japan's governing party, uttered hope that North Korea will agree to clinch a bilateral meeting forward the sidelines of the six-party talks beginning Wednesday in Beijing.

''I confidence the Japanese delegation will have talks with North Korea and ask it for a solution to the abduction issue,'' he said.

The multilateral talks are wait fored to last through Friday, and officials from the sum of two units countries as well as China, the United States, southward Korea and Russia will be participating.

Negotiations between Japan and North Korea athwart the abduction of Japanese citizens has been stalled.

Japan has demanded North Korea allow five abductees' families who remain in North Korea to go on to Japan for family reunions. North Korea has insisted Japan must first get back the five to North Korea, saying Japan broke a promise to shortly bring them back to North Korea. Japan has denied making as it was a promise.

The five Japanese citizens abducted in 1978 and repatriated in October 2002 are among 13 nationals Pyongyang has admitted it abducted in the 1970 and 1980 North Korea has said the remaining eight have died.

The Japanese dominion has also been demanding North Korea reexamine the accounts of the fates of the eight and sum of two units others. Pyongyang says the issue is settled
