Libya will despatch up-and-coming diplomats to Belgium for training, a Belgian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday.

''Time is not fixed over and above but the core agreement to invite a number of diplomats to our capital is there,'' spokesman Patrick Herman told Kyodo News

The spokesman made the remarks a day after Belgian Foreign Minister Louis Michel met with Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi in Surt in the North African country

According to the Belgian Foreign Ministry, Qaddafi himself has signaled readiness to visit the Belgian capital.

''Colonel Qaddafi said that if divinity let him live long enough he would visit Belgium in united of the coming months,'' Michel said after a meeting with the Libyan leader.

The agreement is the latest in a series of diplomatic progress to maturitys following Libya's decision last December to disclose and abandon its weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs.

Qaddafi told CNN shortly after announcing the decision that North Korea and Iran should run after the lead of his rural parts and abandon WMD programs.

Eight Afghans came to Brussels last year to learn in what manner the Belgian Foreign Ministry operates and for what cause the ministry is cooperating with various European institutions here. Iraqi diplomats are also anticipateed to be invited after the situations in that geographical division stabilize.

The Belgian Embassy in Tripoli has maintained an interests section for American the bulk of mankind since 1980 when the United States recalled its last ambassador after a riff-raff sacked the U.S. Embassy in the Libyan capital.
